Sports Bras

A woman should replace a sports bra at the same time she buys a new pair of shoes. The bra elastic wears out and the bra loses support as quickly as footwear loses its cushioning. Most women also have improperly fitting sports bras that dig into their shoulders or chaff under their breasts. We have female associates on staff who will be happy to help you find just the right bra for you. We sell bras made by Moving Comfort, Champion, and Enell.

You should also watch for our annual Diva Night. It's a great, women-only event, and we always have a bra specialist on hand to help you find the perfect bra for you--as well as wine, great snacks, and fun!

What makes a good sports bra?

Support - Different activities require different sports bras. The higher the impact level, the more support you'll need. If you're a small- or medium-breasted woman (A to C cup), a compression-style bra will provide support and comfort. You can also choose a bra that offers encapsulation for shaping as well as support.

If you're a larger-breasted woman (C to DD cup), you may find encapsulating styles that separate and support your breasts more comfortable and more supportive than compression bras. For maximum support, choose a sports bra that does both.

Comfort - Just like any piece of clothing, you should try on different styles to find out what you like best. A good sports bra should feel comfortable, remain in place while you move, and not chafe. Straps should not dig into your shoulders, and the band around the lower chest should not shift or bind.

Try out some various movements while being fitted--do jumping jacks, run in place, and bend over to make sure what feels comfortable is supportive when you move. A good sports bra should fit more snugly than a lingerie bra, but should not be uncomfortable, restrict movement, or hamper breathing.

Moisture Control and Breathability - A good sports bra wicks sweat away from the skin and drys quickly, and the fabric is breathable, allowing perspiration and excess heat to escape. A good sports bra will keep you cooler and drier when it's hot, and drier and warmer when it's cold.
